Hi,
Over the Weekend of 7th and 8th December we are debuting The Leeds Country Way Ultras, a brand new 2 day ultra marathon. As an organiser this is a mammoth task which is why I need YOUR help. As well as supporting the hungry runners on the course, you will be a catalyst in getting this event off the ground.
The Leeds Country Way Ultras have 9 Checkpoints over the weekend that need manning.
Saturday 7th December
1 Methley
2 Robin Hood (exact location tbc)
3 Woodkirk Valley Country Club (Major CP)
4 Valley Inn, Drighlington
5 Fox & Grapes, Pudsey
Sunday 8th December
1 Horsforth (exact location tbc)
2 Golden Acre Park
3 Bardsey Callister Hall (Major CP)
4 Barwick Maypole

WHAT I CAN DO FOR YOU IN RETURN
Each Checkpoint Club gets 4 Free entries to the LCW Winter Ultras (Limited to 2M + 2F) + a unique 20% discount code to share with all your club members.
This is an opportunity to promote and show off your club to our ultra runners, don't forget your club’s flag!
WHAT we NEED FROM YOU
We require at least 4 people at each checkpoint - but as many as you like!
Checkpoint Roles
Checkpoint Leader
We need one person to be a Checkpoint Leader, who will be in communication with us over at Race HQ
General Support
Feed runners snacks, help with water refills etc
Timekeepers x 2
You will be provided with a sheet to collect race numbers and times as each runner passes you / checks in, once the sheet is filled you will upload to our live google doc which will be shared with HQ so we have details of where each runners is and can record times not only for finish but individual legs.
Everything else is up to you, bring snacks suitable for the race, club colour cupcakes? Yes please.
TIMES
Times will vary on checkpoint and the opening/closing times will vary depending on each checkpoint. Earlier checkpoints will be busy for a short space of time while later ones might be open longer. Earlier ones won’t need as many snacks, but it might be a bit more of a rush etc.
Someone will be required to collect kit from race HQ at the start of the race.
WHAT IS PROVIDED
Markers (flags, arrows, tape etc) to mark a runners approach and exit to and from the LCW (if the checkpoint is not on the actual route)
Signage
Full Briefing to the Checkpoint Leader Detailing all rules and procedures for the race.
Medical Cover We have event medics who will be on call during the event
An introduction to venue owner (if applicable)
